Chris
Chris started performing in her early 20s and has never looked back. Over the years she has explored the workings of the voice with great fascination and has shared her knowledge and experiences through coaching others. Chris joined Feelgood Factor in 2018 and was made to feel very welcome from day one; she is now loving the experience of working with a big band and a wonderful group of friendly and talented musicians. She says whilst the band name is a little cheesy, it really does say it all. |
Horn Section
Frances - Trumpet
Frances wanted to play music from as long as she can remember. At age 11 she was offered a trumpet and hasn't looked back. Frances studied music in London and went on to teach in Lancashire and Somerset and has played in a wide variety of groups and styles. She is excited to join Feelgood Factor and play with a friendly band who have energy, enjoy playing together and who sound great ! |
Rhythm Section
Frank - KeysFrank started learning to play the piano when he realised that he could get his hand up the back, and unlock it from the inside; the big breakthrough though, was when he found that piling a few encyclopaedias on the "loud" pedal meant he could run up and down the keyboard getting as many notes as possible to sound at once! Since then; he has made it his mission, to play all the "bum" notes, so that others don't have to! |
Roy - Drums
Roy was born in Liverpool and his interest in music started at an early age when his older sister used to come home from The Cavern Club and kept talking about a group that were playing there that went on to do rather well. After joining a band at school he went on to play in bands and then moved into cabaret work in the numerous Manchester venues of the 1970's. Due to work commitments, he gave up playing seriously in the mid 80's but 'picked up the sticks' again around five years ago. Having played with three bands since then he was lucky enough to join Feelgood Factor recently and is thoroughly enjoying playing alongside a talented and friendly bunch of guys and girls. |
Rob - BassRob's first love was drums. At the age of 4 he was allowed to 'have a go' on some drums set up in a club for a gig, but wouldn't get off stage until he'd finished his solo. However, wanting to play guitar just like his dad, he wandered away from rhythm and towards the dark lands of 'musical' instruments. Later on, he came to his senses and returned to the driving pulse of the band and combined both these skills by taking up the bass. Having played with members of the Sid Lawrence Orchestra, Jim Bowen, and a man who played guitar with his feet behind his head on 'Britain's Got Talent', he's played a variety of styles that should keep you dancing all night. Let's be honest – it's all about the bass. |
Tim - Guitar
Tim’s first foray into the world of live music was with the Preston based band Eye to I in the early 1980’s. After five or so years with them, he played with Times Square (Pop-Rock), Hearts on Fire (more Pop-rock) Orchid (indie), Josh (Bhangra, - yes, honestly!). Tim joined Feelgood Factor around 1998. After the band broke up he played with Prog Rockers Seyes (Prog rock - defined by the BBC as when the hair was long and the songs were longer!). During this period, Tim taught guitar as well as passing exams in electric, bass and classical guitar. When Feelgood Factor reformed a few years ago Tim needed no second invitation to join. Initially, the band reformed as a one-off for a former band member’s daughter’s wedding, but realised the old spark was still there, and the band did a few more gigs. The present FGF line-up has a new energy, so Tim is excited about the next chapter in the FGF story. |
